DONATED DAF XF RETURNS FROM CHERNOBYL

John Barry, Derry O’Shea and our donated DAF XF truck have returned from another successful Bus Workers Charity Fund humanitarian trip to Chernobyl and Belarus.

Throughout the year John and Derry take part in a number of fundraising events to raise money and collect donations for those directly affected by the 1986 Chernobyl disaster and their descendants. In September of each year the team then transport all donations to Brest Province, Belarus, where they are distributed to schools, social centres, orphanages and to those in need.

This year we donated one of our DAF XF trucks to transport all raised donations across Europe; from beginning to end the trip took two weeks to complete and our XF truck travelled over 5,500 miles from Ireland to Belarus and back.

As a thank you to the Bus Workers Charity Fund, and to DAF Trucks Ireland for the donation of our XF, the Humanitarian Support Centre in Brest Province, Belarus, sent the above letter to John and Derry which they have kindly passed along to us.

A huge well done to John, Derry and their team for the continued hard work, we look forward to working with you all again in the future.
