Lothian DAF Bathgate is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join their successful team in Bathgate, West Lothian. This is a combined role offering the opportunity to lead and manage the workshop while ensuring its smooth operation.
The Role:
•    Oversee the efficient running of the Service Department, driving growth and development of workshop facilities.
•    Control the allocation of work to a team of 11 Technicians and 2 Apprentices (across two shifts) to meet departmental KPI’s.
•    Ensure the timely flow of job cards through the workshop and to administration.
•    Liaise effectively with Service Reception, Workshop Foreman, and Technicians.
•    Provide strong leadership and direction to achieve the highest levels of customer service and financial performance targets.
•    Maintain a strong focus on workshop efficiencies and meet all relevant KPI’s.
•    Analyse fluid contamination samples.
•    Update Dealer/Manufacturer systems (Keyloop, Kerridge), DAFCheck, Techshare).
•    Assist technicians with any technical issues.
•    Secure customer authorisation for additional work.
•    Ensure all work is completed correctly, competently, and within expected timescales.
•    Finalise and sign off job cards.
The Ideal Candidate:
•    Proven track record in a similar Service Manager or Workshop Controller role within the commercial vehicle industry.
•    Strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team and achieve results.
•    Excellent commercial vehicle technical knowledge and working understanding of DAF products.
•    Proficiency in Keyloop (Kerridge) is an advantage along with other relevant dealership/manufacturer systems experience.
•    High level of experience with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage a busy environment.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with customer, technicians and colleagues.
