Regional Sales Manager - Munster Region

DAF Trucks Ireland is the exclusive distributor and primary retailer for DAF Trucks in Ireland. We’re seeking a driven B2B sales professional with experience in commercial vehicle or capital equipment sales to join our high performing team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within DAF Trucks Cork to become a Regional Sales Manager for the Munster region.

Reporting to the Sales Director, we are looking for somebody with the right skills and experience, along with the ability to sell the complete range of DAF Trucks and services. A self-starter with the ability to put the customer first are essential attributes for this important role.

You will be expected to build and develop long term relationships with existing and new customers.  While knowledge of the Transport or Logistics Industries is useful, experience in selling capital equipment is required. 

THE ROLE:

  • In conjunction with the Sales Director and other senior management, to develop and implement regional sales plan, to market and sell DAF products and services within the defined selling area.
  • To sell the complete range of DAF trucks, products, and services in line with the sales plan exceeding the levels detailed in regional sales plan for the defined selling area.
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • To use the Customer Relationship Management system (“CRM”) to record a database of new and prospect customers and related information. 
  • To provide timely and accurate quotations to customers at all times utilising company and manufacturer systems provided.
  • To put the customer first, and to strive for maximum customer satisfaction.
  • To actively participate in the sales meetings including the exchange of ideas, customer leads and other relevant information.
  • To be mindful of proper cost management, and to maximise the opportunity to grow profit.
  • To attend and support customer events as, this may include events outside Ireland and outside of normal working hours as and when required by the business.
  • To liaise with the Marketing team as and when required.
  • To liaise with the Credit Control Department as and when required.
  • To work in accordance with the DAF standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental care.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in capital equipment sales, preferably selling commercial vehicles.
  • Good selling and negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving sale targets.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the commercial vehicle market and the ability to develop sales strategies.
  • An understanding of a customer’s business needs, ensuring vehicle specifications meet customer requirements.
  • Experience of a customer order process and managing the order to delivering a vehicle to the required customer specification.
  • Understanding of vehicle financing, including trade-ins.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Lots of drive, self-motivation to succeed in sales and to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Be highly flexible with good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Full clean driving licence for driving in Ireland.
