DAF drivers will be well looked after on the DAF Trucks stand at the CV Show this year. A free breakfast awaits DAF drivers who present photo-evidence of themselves behind the wheel of their DAF truck.
“We’re asking drivers to sing for their supper,” joked Phil Moon, DAF Trucks Marketing Manager, “well, actually, it’s their breakfast, and they don’t have to sing either! However, they do have to show us a picture of themselves with their DAF truck, and, in return, we’ll treat them to a breakfast on our Show Stand.
“That’s certainly not the only attraction for them,” he added, “we’re really geared-up for DAF drivers this year. In fact, drivers are at the very heart of our DAF Transport Efficiency theme in 2015 with a whole host of product enhancements designed to maximise productivity from behind the wheel. Never before,” he said, “has a DAF driver been so capable of getting the very best from his machine.”

Of significant interest to drivers is the Driver Performance Assistant. With its easy-to-interpret display, the DPA provides drivers with instant feedback on fuel use and, importantly, anticipation levels during critical driving events, particularly braking.
New for 2015 are easy to read drivers’ hours information and alerts from the tachograph displayed clearly in the driver’s information panel.
DAF Apps - CV Show Exhibition App and MyDAF App
DAF Trucks can announce that its hugely popular MyDAF app is now available on the Android & Kindle platforms as well as Apple.
DAF Trucks is also introducing for the first time a dedicated app for its CV Show Stand. Users may browse and interact with DAF Trucks’ wide range of products and services while, for example, enjoying some DAF Trucks hospitality, before selecting precisely where on the stand they wish to visit.
DAF Driver Academy
DAF Trucks is delighted that Mandy Wannerton will be joining the CV Show team this year. Mandy, who features in the recently completed full range of driver training videos available at www.dafdealernetwork.co.uk or on the MyDAF app, will be available to chat to drivers throughout the duration of the show. She will be joined by her colleague Peter Jackson.
Mandy heads-up the DAF Driver Academy, DAF Trucks’ own driver training service for UK operators. Training, which includes Driver CPC courses, is made up of classroom and practical on-the-road modules at either DAF Trucks’ headquarters in Thame, at selected DAF Dealers throughout the UK or at customer locations. The objective at the completion of every course is to have maximised thedriver’s knowledge of his or her compliance, their awareness of safety, and their ability to extract maximum efficiency from their vehicle.
On specific DAF EcoDrive courses, attendees learn to drive, on average, 5-to-10% more economically over the short term, equating to ‘real-world’ savings of between 3 and 5%.
